is a local grassroots initiative that recognizes businesses that are child- and family-friendly. The Children’s Movement encourages businesses, large and small, to help our employees and customers make their children and families a priority and take an active part in their education and activities.
The Children’s Movement’s goal is to have a collective voice of 500 supporters throughout Merced County by June 2013, businesses taking on a leadership role to build awareness, advocate, and take action that will make children and families a priority in our businesses, communities, and region.
Why Businesses?
The business sector can use its influence to get things done. Our children need this influence and ability to bring about change.
When our children do better, our whole community does better, including our schools, our businesses and our economy!
Children who attend quality preschool become better students. When children have the best possible start they are more likely to grow up to be better employees, parents, and members of the community.
Employees who are better parents are more likely to raise successful students. Successful students become future employees and customers.
